Quick Start Guide
Welcome to the ProGlove INSIGHT QuickStart - your one-stop resource for connecting, managing, and optimizing your ProGlove devices. Here, you’ll find short tutorial videos to help you set up your devices and unlock the full potential of the INSIGHT Platform.
1. Introduction & Prerequisites
Before you connect your first device, let’s ensure you have everything ready.INSIGHT is more than just a connection tool - it’s your visibility and performance platform. It helps prevent device loss, optimize workflows, and with Warehouse 360, gives you full end-to-end operational insight.
Prerequisites Checklist
Access the INSIGHT Platform
Define Your Site Structure
Create a logical hierarchy that mirrors your organization (e.g., Country → Site → Line/Area). This structure makes it easier to assign devices and apply settings consistently.
Configure Your Firewall
INSIGHT uses MQTT over port 443 for secure outbound communication.
Once these are done, you’re ready to onboard your connectivity devices.
Connecting Android Devices
If you’re using Android mobile devices (like the Zebra TC series) with your ProGlove scanners, this guide shows you how to connect them quickly and securely.
Option 1: QR Code Provisioning (for small rollouts)
Open the INSIGHT Mobile app.
Scroll to the bottom of the start screen and select INSIGHT Connectivity → Scan QR.
Use your device’s camera to scan the QR code shown in your INSIGHT Platform.
Your device will automatically connect and receive its configuration.
Option 2: MDM Deployment (for larger rollouts)
If you’re managing hundreds of devices, use your MDM system (e.g., SOTI, Workspace ONE, or 42 Gears):
Download the .fleet file or Managed Google Play Parameter/String from INSIGHT.
Distribute it to each device or include the configuration as part of your managed app settings.
Once connected, your Android devices will automatically start syncing with INSIGHT.
Connecting ProGlove Gateways
Gateways act as dedicated connectivity devices for your ProGlove scanners. Whether you’re using Wi-Fi or Ethernet (Gateway Plus), here’s how to get started.
Option 1: QR Code Provisioning (simple setups)
In the INSIGHT Platform, generate a Gateway QR code (include Wi-Fi credentials if needed)
Connect a ProGlove scanner to your Gateway and use it to scan the QR code displayed
Your Gateway will register and automatically connect to INSIGHT.
Option 2: USB Mass Storage (for larger deployments)
Connect your Gateway to your computer via USB.
Copy the downloaded .fleet file to the root directory.
Eject the Gateway — it will reboot and connect automatically.
Once your Gateway is connected, you can manage firmware updates remotely and access full operational insights within the platform.
