Finding the perfect fit is individual — every hand is unique. Whenever possible, try on the wearable to find the most comfortable size. Use the table below as a guide and measure your hand without gloves. If you usually wear a glove, add a few millimetres (or a fraction of an inch) to your measurement. ![]()
2. | How long does an Index Trigger last? |
ProGlove wearables are built for tough industrial environments but should be replaced regularly to ensure safety, comfort, and reliable performance. The lifespan of an Index Trigger depends on how it’s used and cared for. Reported lifetimes range from a few dozen up to several hundred 8-hour shifts. In tests under industrial conditions, the average lifespan is around 80 shifts. Factors that can affect lifetime include:
Recommendation: Assign each user their own wearable rather than sharing. Personal use typically extends product life significantly.
3. | Can I estimate the lifetime of the Index Trigger in advance? |
ProGlove has years of experience with wearable applications across many industries and use cases, providing solid reference data on product lifespan. However, the most accurate way to estimate lifetime is to test the wearables in your own environment during a POC project. For detailed reference data or start of a POC, please contact your ProGlove representative.
4. | How can I extend the lifetime of the Index Trigger? |
You can increase the lifespan of your Index Trigger with a few simple steps:
| |
5. | Is there a warranty for the Index Trigger? |
If you experience issues with your Index Trigger, please contact your ProGlove representative or our support team. Describe your use case (e.g., assembly or commissioning), how long the wearable has been used, the observed defect, and the average number of scans per shift. If applicable, our support will guide you through the RMA process and shipping instructions. We often provide replacements, alternatives, or other solutions for your situation. You can also choose a Wearable Subscription, which covers all your wearable needs at a fixed monthly rate - without upfront investment or risk. For further details, please contact your ProGlove representative.
6. | Which variants of the Index Trigger are available? |
The Index Trigger comes in six variants: Small, Medium, and Large - each available for left or right hand use. You can choose between packs of 3 or 10. On request, ProGlove also offers versions suitable for ESD-protected areas. For more information, contact your ProGlove representative or email us at info@proglove.com.
7. | Can I clean or disinfect the Index Trigger? |
ProGlove wearables are not machine-washable. They are designed to be replaced periodically due to normal wear and tear. You can clean your wearable carefully using a spray cleaner with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a fabric-safe cleaner. Always let the wearable dry completely before use. Avoid any harsh chemicals, soaking, or applying pressure near the trigger area. Cleaning results may vary, and ProGlove cannot guarantee performance after cleaning. For more details, see our full guide: Barcode Scanning Basics: Keep your MARK System Clean.
8. | Can I use the Index Trigger in low-temperature environments? |
Yes, the Index Trigger can be used in temperatures as low as -5°C (23°F). Below this, some parts may lose their holding strength and performance can be affected. For colder environments, we recommend using the Reel or the Hand Strap, which can be used down to -30°C (-22°F).
9. | Is the Index Trigger PWIS-free (e.g., silicone, wax, or stripping agents)? |
Yes, the ProGlove Index Trigger is PWIS-free and does not contain substances that could affect surface wetting during coating or painting processes. This requirement is especially important in the automotive industry and other applications involving surface finishing. Products containing silicone, wax, or similar agents can cause paint defects - the Index Trigger does not contain any of these materials. PWIS = Paint-Wetting Impairment Substances (also known as LABS - Lackbenetzungsstörende Substanzen).
10. | Where can I find the batch number of the product? |
The batch number is engraved into the orange clip of the Index Trigger and can be found on the packaging of the product. |
