Introduction

Device Monitoring features assist in maintaining operational efficiency by helping you keep track of your devices and enabling a more accurate status of their performance and maintenance. Monitor performance and quickly identify devices that are not being charged or are not in use. Provide solutions to your workforce that will enhance their process and support good habits for returning the devices to chargers after every shift.

Included features
Below is a list of features we designed for Device Monitoring purposes. Note that we are still working on the BETA features and always working on something new, so you'll want to return to these pages occasionally and check for any news or updates.
Beacon signals 
Reduce the risk of losing your scanners, monitor inactive ones and ensure your workforce starts their every new shift with charged devices. This feature enables you to get a better input into how your devices are maintained and how they are performing. Click here for more details. Activate the feature using the Gateway and Scanner settings for any of your device configurations.
Out of range feedback
Let the scanners remind your workers to return them to the charger or hand them over to other workers, if going out of the range of their working station. Activate the feature in the Scanner settings for any of your device configurations.
Inactive mode feedback
Configure your ProGlove scanners so they alert you when they're out of contact, i.e. not paired with a Connectivity Device (not in active use) and not charging. Enable sound and/or vibration alerts in the Scanner settings for any of your device configurations.
Additional information

While Charger beacon signal is available in the INSIGHT Visibility and INSIGHT Analytics plans, the Out of range and Inactive mode feedback are available within the INSIGHT Standard subscription. Subscription requirements are also listed on individual feature pages. | |

No. These features enable your devices to be smarter and report or react as soon as they go outside of the defined workflows. | |
4. | Can I connect my scanners directly to INSIGHT? |
ProGlove scanners can only be connected to INSIGHT via an Android or a Gateway device. We're also working on enabling it for iOS devices in the near future. | |
5. | Can I monitor the exact location of my devices? |
No. The Device Monitoring features assist with the discovery and retrieval of devices when alerts are activated, so less devices should get lost or be unaccounted for. | |
6. | I never see any of my scanners charging. What am I doing wrong? |
Make sure to follow all steps and configure your Gateway and scanners for Charging Beacon Receiver mode. |
